Project Tasks page represents various information regarding Tasks. Page contains the list of Tasks, controls and navigation components combined in several groups:
Following status information is available at the top of the page:
You are logged as - the name of currently logged-in User.
Current project - displays the name of currently selected Project.
Role in project - displays the Role of currently logged-in User in selected Project.
If currently selected Project has one or more Announcements then latest Announcement will be displayed at the top of the page between Status Information and Project menu. Mouse click on "more..." hyperlink at the right of the text navigates to Announcements page giving a chance to view previous Announcements, add new or edit existing Announcements.
Project menu incorporates following items:
Forum - invokes Forum Topics page displaying the list of Topics related with choosen Project.
Task List - is selected when viewing Project Tasks page.
Team - invokes Project Team page displaying the list of Team Members for choosen Project.
Bug Tracking - invokes Bug tracking page displaying the list of Bug Reports for choosen Project.
Documents & Sources - invokes Storage page displaying the list of Storage for choosen Project.
Milestones - invokes Milestones page displaying the list of Milestones for choosen Project.
Announcements - invokes Announcements page displaying the list of Announcements for choosen Project.
Reports - invokes Project Reports page giving an access to Project Reports for choosen Project.
History - invokes History page giving an access to the list of the History events registered in the database.
Mail - invokes E-mail form giving a chance to send e-mail messages to project's Team Members.
Represents the list of Tasks for choosen Project and brief information regarding each task's status organized as a table having following columns:.
Status - column may display one or more icons showing task's status. Warning icon or Alarm icon indicates Task, which needs user’s attention. If Estimated end date overdue takes place (Task is not completed and current date is more than Estimated end date but less than associated Milestone date) then system marks such Task with Warning icon in the list. If Milestone overdue takes place (Task is not completed and current date is more than associated Milestone date) then system marks such Task with Alarm icon in the list. In addition system marks recently created Tasks (that is tasks created after the latest user's visit to Project Management System) with New icon.
Delete - if the Task may be deleted then system displays Delete icon in this column. The Task may be deleted if no hours were associated with this Task in Personal Daily Reports and currently logged-in User has a right to delete Tasks. Mouse button click on Delete icon invokes dialog asking User to confirm deletion and in case of positive answer removes the Task.
Forum - if the Task has associated Forum Topic then system displays Forum icon in this column. Mouse button click on Forum icon navigates to Forum Messages page.
Edit - if currently logged-in user has a right to edit Tasks then system displays Edit icon in this column. Mouse button click on Edit icon invokes Edit Task page giving a chance to rename Task, to change assigned Team member or any other task's properties.
Abbr - column displays abbreviation of the Task convenient for references in text documents, e-mail messages, etc.
Task - column displays Task name. Mouse button click on the name invokes pop-up window displaying task properties including detailed description.
Assigned to - column displays the name of Team member to whom the Task is assigned. Mouse button click on the name invokes pop-up window displaying Team member properties.
Type - column displays Task type (one of the following: Addition, Bug, Issue, Modification).
Priority - column displays Task priority (one of the following: Urgent, High, Normal, Low).
Estim. hours - column displays estimated amount of work in man-hours necessary to complete the Task.
Estim. end date - column displays Task planned completion date.
% done - column displays approximate percentage of the Task completed so far according to Assigned user's opinion.
Spent hours - column displays the sum of all hours recorded by Team members in their Personal Daily Reports as hours spent for the completeon of the Task.
Add report - column displays an icon giving currently logged-in user an opportunity to add his Personal Daily Report. This way of navigation is more convenient than usual navigation by means of User's menu.
Tasks in the list are grouped by Milestones with which Tasks are associated. By default system sorts Tasks within each milestone by Abbr column. However User may change sorting order by clicking following column titles: Abbr, Task, Assigned to, Type, Priority, Estim. hours, Estim. end date, % done.
Click on Show closed tasks checkbox to display Tasks having % done value is 100. By default only tasks having % done value is less than 100 are shown.
Click on Quick navigation pushbutton to invoke the list of user's Bookmarks. Click on Add this page to Bookmarks link at the bottom of the page to add currently opened page to the list of user's Bookmarks.
Provides user with full text search within system database. Project Management System searches for the string entered into the search box in Projects (name and description fields), in Tasks (name and description fields), in Bug reports (name and description fields), in Documents (name and description fields), in Forums (name and description fields), in Forum topics (name and description fields), in Forum Messages (subject and body fields).
My Settings - invokes Edit Settings page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or delete his personal settings - login, password, e-mail, telephone and some other. Using this page user also have an opportunity to upload his photo thus representing himself to other members of a project team..
My Bookmarks - invokes Bookmarks page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or delete his personal Bookmarks.
My Reminders - invokes Reminders page providing user with a possibility to view, edit, add or delete his personal Reminders.
My Daily Reports (or pressing F8 hotkey) - invokes Personal daily reports page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or add his personal activity records.
Click on Help menu item (or pressing F1 hotkey) invokes pop-up window displaying this help.
Terminates user's session and redirects visitor's web browser to login page. System automatically terminates session if user is not navigating between Project Management System pages for 2 hours, however for security reasons it is recommended to use Logout link to terminate session before you close your web browser or leave Project Management System. It is especially important if you are using public or shared computer.
