Edit Note page

Use Edit Note page to add or edit Notes - special type of History records intended for the registration of various off-line events like a telephone conversations, meetings or financial activities.
Page contains controls and navigation components combined in several groups:

System menu or Project menu

System menu is shown if the Edit Note page was invoked from the system context - from the list of projects, list of forums, Admin's pages or system reports. System menu contains following items:

Forums - invokes Forums Root page containing the list of all Forums available to logged-in User.

Project List - invokes Projects root page.

Admin pages - invokes Administrator's root page giving an access to various administrative tools. Item is visible and available only to Users having administrative privileges.

History - is selected when the Edit Note page is displayed.

System reports - invokes System Reports page giving an access to various system-level reports.

Project menu is shown if the Edit Note page was invoked from the project context - from the list of project's tasks, project's forum, Bug reports page and so forth. Project menu incorporates following items:

Forum - invokes Forum Topics page displaying the list of Topics related with choosen Project.

Task List - invokes Project Tasks page displaying the list of Tasks for choosen Project.

Team - invokes Project Team page displaying the list of Team Members for choosen Project.

Bug Tracking - invokes Bug tracking page displaying the list of Bug Reports for choosen Project.

Documents & Sources - invokes Storage page displaying the list of Storage for choosen Project.

Milestones - invokes Milestones page displaying the list of Milestones for choosen Project.

Announcements - invokes Announcements page displaying the list of Announcements for choosen Project.

Reports - invokes Project Reports page giving an access to Project Reports for choosen Project.

History - is selected when the Edit Note page is displayed.

Mail - invokes E-mail form giving a chance to send e-mail messages to project's Team Members.

Edit Note form

Contains following controls:

Title - enter note's title. This title will be shown in the list of History events at the History page.

Description - enter note's description. This text (usually multiline) may contain any declaratory information related with a History event.

Company - choose a client Company related with your note. Note that Company listbox may not be shown if Edit Note page was invoked from a Project context. In this case the client Company is already chosen and can not be changed.

Project - choose a Project related with your note. As an alternative you may choose "not set", in this case your note will not be related with any certain Project. Note that Project listbox may not be shown if Edit Note page was invoked from a Project context. In this case the Project is already chosen and can not be changed.

Mark this Note as private - select this checkbox if you want to make your note visible only for you. If Mark this Note as private is not checked then your note will be visible for all Users who have an access to corresponding Project.

Add or Save button (depending upon whether the form was invoked for adding of new note or for editing of existing note) - saves changes in database and navigates user's browser back to the History page.

Cancel button - navigates user's browser back to the History page without saving changes.

Quick navigation bar

Click on Quick navigation pushbutton to invoke the list of user's Bookmarks. Click on Add this page to Bookmarks link at the bottom of the page to add currently opened page to the list of user's Bookmarks.

Search box

Provides user with full text search within system database. Project Management System searches for the string entered into the Search box in Projects (name and description fields), in Tasks (name and description fields), in Bug reports (name and description fields), in Documents (name and description fields), in Forums (name and description fields), in Forum topics (name and description fields), in Forum Messages (subject and body fields).

User's menu

My Settings - invokes Edit Settings page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or delete his personal settings - login, password, e-mail, telephone and some other. Using this page user also have an opportunity to upload his photo thus representing himself to other members of a project team..

My Bookmarks - invokes Bookmarks page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or delete his personal Bookmarks.

My Reminders - invokes Reminders page providing user with a possibility to view, edit, add or delete his personal Reminders.

My Daily Reports (or pressing F8 hotkey) - invokes Personal daily reports page providing user with a possibility to view, edit or add his personal activity records.

Help

Click on Help menu item (or pressing F1 hotkey) invokes pop-up window displaying this help.

Logout

Terminates user's session and redirects visitor's web browser to login page. System automatically terminates session if user is not navigating between Project Management System pages for 2 hours, however for security reasons it is recommended to use Logout link to terminate session before you close your web browser or leave Project Management System. It is especially important if you are using public or shared computer.
