Tasks
Task is a project-level entity. It
means that each Task
belongs to certain Project. Task denotes the
single portion of logically related works within a Project,
having its own description, duration and other properties listed below:
- Abbr abbreviation of the Task (limited to 9
characters) convenient for references in text documents, e-mail messages, etc.
System automatically suggests default abbreviations 001, 002, 003, etc., however
user may change it as he wants.
- Name string (limited to 49 characters) representing Task's name.
- Description - string (usually multiline) describing the Task
- Type one of the following: Addition, Bug, Issue,
Modification.
- Priority one of the following: Urgent, High, Normal,
Low
- Status one of the following: To do, In progress, To verify,
Completed
- Estimated hours - estimated amount of work in man-hours necessary to complete the
Task
- Start date - date when the implementation of the Task has been started.
System automatically assigns the date when the first Daily
report refering to this Task
- Estimated end date planned completion date of the Task
- End date date when Task status was changed to Completed
- Milestone reference to one of projects Milestones.
Each task normally should be associated with certain Milestone.
This association indicates the latest possible completion date of the Task,
which will not cause delay of other related Tasks. See
Milestones for more details.
- Assigned user Team member to whom the task is
allocated, responsible for the completion of the Task
- Initiated by Team member who entered the task
into the system, date and time when the Task was entered.
- Last modified by Team member who
made latest changes in any of the Tasks properties, date and time when
modification was done.
- % done approximate percentage of the Task
completed so far. Assigned user periodically changes the value of this property to
indicate progress of his work.
- Assigned Forum Topic reference to Forum Topic
containing this Task related discussion.
Project Management System automatically generates Warnings or Alarms to indicate Tasks,
which need users attention. If Estimated end date overdue takes place
(Task is not completed and current date is more than Estimated end date
but less than associated Milestone date) then system marks
such Task with Warning symbol in the list. If Milestone overdue
takes place (Task is not completed and current date is more
than associated Milestone date) then
system marks such Task with Alarm symbol in the list.
