Bug reports

Bug report is a project-level entity. Team Members add Bug reports in order to list known issues or introduce their requests for enhancements. Each Bug Report has following properties:

• Abbr – abbreviation of the Bug report (limited to 9 characters) convenient for references in text documents, e-mail messages, etc. System automatically suggests default abbreviations “001”, “002”, “003”, etc., however user may change it as he wants.
• Name – string (limited to 49 characters) representing Bug Report name.
• Description - string (usually multiline) describing the Bug Report.
• Initiated by – Team member who entered the Bug Report into Project Management System, date and time when Bug Report was entered.
• Status – one of the following: To Review, Reviewed, Closed. When one of the Team members enters new Bug Report filling in Abbr, Name and Description fields, system automatically sets Status to To Review. Then project leader or other responsible person reviews newly entered Bug Report and fills in Resume field. As a result system automatically sets Status to Reviewed. And finally, when all necessary corrections are implemented, Client company representative or other responsible person changes Status to Closed indicating his formal acquiescence with corrections made.
• Confirmed by – Team member who has entered conclusion into Resume field and by that changed Bug Report status to Reviewed,, date and time when Bug Report was reviewed.
• Resume - string (usually multiline) containing conclusion what should be done to implement requested changes or fix reported bug.
• Assigned Forum Topic – reference to Forum Topic containing this Bug Report related discussion.

Typically Team Members use Bug Reports in following way: person who found out an issue or wishes to suggest any enhancements creates new Bug report and fills in Abbr, Remark and Description fields in corresponding screen form. Project Management System automatically set status to To Review, fills in the name of the Team Member who created the Bug Report and sends e-mail notification to … about newly added Bug Report. Reviewing person opens it for editing and fills in Resume field. Project Management System automatically set status to Reviewed. If necessary Project leader may assign Forum topic in order to open a discussion.
