Edit User properties page
This page provides Project Management System administrator with
an opportunity to edit following User's attributes:
- Name* - User's full name, for example, "John Smith" or "Smith, John" depending upon how
you want names to be sorted.
- Abbr - user's initials - usually the first letters of user's first and last names.
However in some cases other types of personal identifiers may be used, for example, employee file
number or social security number.
- Login* - user's identifier, which user has to enter into the Login form to get an access to
the system. Login must consist of letters, digits and underscore symbol only - spaces and special
symbols are not allowed. Examples of valid login's - "johndoe", "Mary2004", "BOB_MARLEY".
Note that login is case-sensitive. It means that user must enter it exactlty as it is written in
User properties page, preserving the case of each letter, otherwise system refuses user to log in.
- Password* - secret word, which user has to enter into the Login form to get an access to
the system. Password must consist of letters, digits and underscore symbol only - spaces and special
symbols are not allowed. Examples of valid passwords - "745859566890798", "_q7e5n9", "WwT7v9s34".
Note that password is case-sensitive. It means that user must enter it exactlty as it is written in
User properties page, preserving the case of each letter, otherwise system refuses user to log in.
Avoid using short or "easy-to-guess" passwords. Typically password should have not less than 8 symbols
including letters in lower and upper cases and digits. It is especially important if the Project
Management System is available from Internet and potentially any Internet user may try to get into
it.
- E-mail* - user's e-mail address (without protocol prefix mailto:), for example,
johndoe@company.com. Project Management System uses this e-mail address for sending various
e-mail notifications to user, for example, when a task is assigned to this user or a new document
is added to one of the storage. It means that each user must have valid e-mail address registered
in the system.
- E-mail2 - optional user's additional e-mail address (without protocol prefix mailto:),
for example, johndoe@company.com. System does not send any e-mails to this address automatically.
- Phone - Business - user's office telephone number (optional). May be useful if the system
administrator or other members of project development team will need to contact user by phone.
- Phone - Mobile - user's mobile telephone number (optional).
- Phone - Home - user's home telephone number (optional).
- Web Site - user's personal web site (optional).
- Company* - each user in the system belongs to certain Company.
Use the dropdown list to choose one of the companies.
- Has Admin's rights - indicates that user has an administrative privileges in the system.
Only those users who has admin's rights may access administrative pages.
- Advanced reports are allowed - indicates that user has a privilege to see system reports in
advanced mode. In this mode user is allowed to see all Companies and all
Users in system reports without reference to this user's rights to certain
Projects. If advanced mode is not allowed then user sees only those companies
and users who participate in the projects available to this user. Typically the privilege to see system
reports in advanced mode should be assigned to the top managers of the company, which owns the Project
Management System.
- History pages are allowed - indicates that user has a right to see System
history or Project history pages.
- Account is disabled - turn off user's access to the Project Management
System.
